Jonah Boyer Katahdin

Jonah Boyer, aka the Dude of Dudetrek, is an adventure blogger, musician, and whitewater raft guide from Eldersburg, Maryland - the home of Salazon Chocolate! He has hiked over 9,000 miles since August 2012 when he began his 11 month trek from Atlantic to Pacific. As an 18 year old just graduating from high school, he decided to take a year to explore and experience the country before college. After meeting thousands of incredible people from all walks of life and witnessing a tremendous diversity of terrains, climates, and ecosystems all while living on his own for the first time as a neophyte backpacker, he caught the adventure bug and has never looked back.

In 2014, Jonah hiked the southernmost 1,000 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, where he was known as "coaster" for being one of the few hikers to complete the coast to coast trek. Then in 2015, he set out on an adventure even more ambitious than his first - 2 thru-hikes in a year! First, he hiked 1,300 miles from Key West to Pensacola Florida on the Florida Trail, followed by a southbound thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. During 2016, he's been a ski-bum in Big Sky, MT and a whitewater raft guide in Moab, UT, exploring new forms of adventure while planning for his next long hike. From November 2016 to April of 2017, Jonah will be trekking through the summer on the other side of the world, hiking the entire length of New Zealand on the Te Araroa Trail, a 1,800 mile tramping route that will be his first international thru-hike.
